Summary: Pyogenic liver abscess is a pus-filled area in the liver.There are many possible causes of liver abscesses, including:(a) Abdominal infection, such as appendicitis, diverticulitis, or a perforated bowel;(b) Infection in the blood;(c) Infection of the bile draining tubes;(d) Recent endoscopy of the bile draining tubes;(e)Trauma that damages the liver.
