Description: Helicobacter canadensis has been isolated from humans with diarrhea, Barnacle and Canada geese, and from rodent feces. This organism is closely related to Helicobacter pullorum which causes gastrointestinal disease in humans. Although originally isolated from individuals with diarrhea the incidence of gastroenteritis caused by Helicobacter canadensis has not yet been determined.

Description:
Helicobacter is a genus of Gram-negative bacteria possessing a characteristic helical shape. They were initially considered to be members of the Campylobacter genus, but in 1989, Goodwin et al. published sufficient reasons to justify the new genus name Helicobacter. The Helicobacter genus contains about 35 species.
